The Gîte is in the middle of a small French village about an hour south of Poitiers and close to the town of Civray in the south of the Vienne department.
It was built in the early 1800's as a long barn but was converted in early 1950's into the village grocery shop. It has now been converted into a three bedroom single storey gîte.
The large living room has a fully equipped kitchen area to one side and looks out onto the gîte's own garden at the rear of the house. There are two medium sized twin bedrooms and a larger double bedroom, all with en-suite 'wetroom' bathrooms.
Free wifi and UK tv have been installed together with full air conditioning and heating. During the renovation process we have made sure that the gîte is fully wheelchair friendly.
The owners old farm house together with the gîte are on a one hectare (about 2.5 acres) site. The gîte has use of both its own garden and main garden. The pool is just past the end of the gîte garden.
Although this is an area of peace and tranquility, there is still a large variety of things to do. A selection is set out on the following pages and there are several folders with detailed printed information in the gîte.
